Isabell Werth has lost her 6-year old licensed stallion Boston on 4 February 2012 following an intestinal illness. Owned by Brit Craig Mcdonald the bay stallion was euthanized at the Meerbusch equine clinic.

Bred by Karen Jones and purchased as a yearling by Macdonald, Boston was a British bred warmblood stallion by Jazz out of Sebora (by Flemmingh x Purioso). He was licensed with the British Warmblood Society in 2008 and proclaimed licensing champion. He was subsequently approved for the South German studbooks, Oldenburg and Rhineland/Westfalen.

The young stallion was initially based at the Schwaiganger State Stud in Bavaria, but for the last two years has been in training with Isabell Werth and Matthias Bouten in Rheinberger, Germany.

Boston leaves over 300 foals of which Boston's owner Macdonald hopes will go on to realise the full potential of the young stallion in both breeding and competition.

“Boston was not just a wonderful stallion but also a very special horse who had enormous presence and character," said Isabell Werth. "We miss him being with us.”
