Rose Mathisen's Swedish Grand Prix team horse Bocelli has been operated on following a colic attack on 27 December 2011. The 13-year old Swedish warmblood stallion has been recovering well from the surgery.

Owned by Gransbo Stuteri, Bocelli (by Don Schufro x Bernstein) was a member of the Swedish team that competed at the 2011 European Dressage Championships where the team obtained Olympic qualification. The combination also won silver at the 2011 Swedish Dressage Championships.

"He was operated on but everything looked good so the surgery was minimal," Mathisen told Swedish magazine Tidningen Ridsport. "Bocelli feels fine now but it wasn't fun. He will recover completely and the only thing we'll miss is riding at the Scandinavium (CDI-W Gothenburg)."

Mathisen added that Bocelli never had colic before so they are unsure was caused the attack that day.
