European double gold medallist and World Cup Finals' champion Adelinde Cornelissen is the leader of the 2011 FEI Dressage Riders Ranking, which closed on 31 December 2011 with the last points from the London, Frankfurt and Mechelen tallied to the total.

With her 14-year old Dutch warmblood gelding Parzival, Cornelissen is the lonely Dutchman at the top with 2739 points, while her next country mate only ranks 18th: Hans Peter Minderhoud. Minderhoud covers this 18th position (1956 points) with his now retired mare Nadine and the next Dutch pair is Minderhoud again with his rising Grand Prix horse Tango on 23rd position with 1903 points.

In 2010 the Dutch were the unbeatable team at the World Equestrian Games but in 2011 they were struggling to maintain that podium position after "unusual" team bronze at the 2011 European Championships in Rotterdam. Of course the orange team is known for a good fight and it will surely try to come back with a vengeance during the Olympic year in 2012.

British European silver medallist Carl Hester climbed from a fourth to a second place on the 2011 FEI Dressage Riders Ranking and is the runner up with 2526 points, ahead of team mate Laura Bechtolsheimer and Mistral Hojris with 2492 points.

German Matthias Rath and his 11-year old Dutch warmblood stallion Totilas are in fourth place with 2471 points, followed by British Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro on fifth (2360 points).

The strongest achievements, without a doubt, is that one German rider has TWO horses in the top 10: Isabell Werth covers the 8th spot with El Santo NRW (2275 points) and 9th spot with Warum Nicht FRH (2218 points).
