2011 KNHS Subli Championships

Charon, Beau Sejour, and Anoraline have won the 2011 KNHS Subli Championships for young dressage horses in Ermelo, The Netherlands, on Friday 23 December 2011. The 4-year old dressage horses appeared in one finals test, whereas the 5 and 6-year olds had to do a
qualification round in the morning, followed by a finals in the afternoon.

The 4-year old division was dominated by riders from the Seeland province. The 29-year old Grand Prix rider Thamar Zweistra won the class aboard Leunis van Lieren's Dutch warmblood stallion Charon (by Rubiquil x Havidoff). The combination scored 87.00 and was far ahead of runner up Ellen Wynia on tje black KWPN stallion Chakakahn (by Sir Donnerhall x Jazz). This duo received 81.80 from panel of judges, which included Mariette Sanders, Karin Retera and Arie Hamoen.

Marie Jose Hulsman and the KWPN branded Beau Sejour (by Flemmingh x Tolbert) won the 5-year old category after a tough fight with the other top three contenders. Beau Sejour won the first round with 81.80 but placed third in the finals with 80.10 after her horse exploded in the canter and the rider went off course. Her overall score of 80.95, however, made her top the leaderboard. The mare scored 8.8 for trot and walk, 7.3 for canter, 7.3 for submission and 9 for general impression. Jennifer Sekreve and the Samba Hit II x Vincent offspring Brokaat were the reserve champions with 76.80 in the first round and 84.80 in the finals. The combination received 8.5 for trot and walk, 8.3 for canter, 8.6 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. The 5-year old finals were judged by Mariette Sanders-van Gansewinkel (vz), Arie Hamoen, and Karin Retera.

Engie Kwakkel and the Dutch warmblood Anoralina (by Samba Hit x Amiral) won the 6-year old division after winning both the first round and finals with 86.30 and 80.00 points. The mare scored 8.5 for trot, 7 for walk, 8.5 for canter and 8 for submission and general impression. Former young rider Robin Beekink and the German bred Bella Rosa (by Belissimo M x Hohenstein) became the runners up after scoring 81.20 in round 1 and 78.40 in the free test. This mare got 7.5 for trot, 8 for walk and canter, 7.7 for submission and 8 for general impression. The 6-year old finals were judged by M.J. Peutz-Vegter, Jan Peeters, and J. Huberts.
