Austrian Grand Prix dressage rider Renate Voglsang has been nominated for the title of Austrian Rider of the Year 2011 by the Austrian equestrian publication Pferde Plus. Twelve equestrian athletes have been nominated in total.
A public vote determines which rider earns the title and the nominees represent all equestrian disciplines: from vaulting to driving to reining.
Renate Voglsang is the sole dressage representative and she has earned her nomination because she was the "dressage shooting star of the year." Pferde Plus added that she achieved "top performances at the indoor shows in Stuttgart and Frankfurt."
