Twelve Colts Accepted at 2011 Oldenburg Stallion Approval

Twelve foreign bred and branded dressage colts were approved for Oldenburg breeding at the 2011 Oldenburg Stallion Approval held in Vechta, Germany, on 6 December 2011.

Eleven dressage colts were registered for the approval, ten showed up and two were rejected. Amongst the outcasts were Dr. Kerstin Klieber's Mecklenberger reserve champion Skyfall (by Sir Donnerhall x Royal Hit) and Gestut Bonhomme's Trakehner premium colt Private Passion (by Grand Passion x Maizauber).

The stallions accepted for Oldenburg breeding are:

  • Flake (by Florencio x Metternich)
  • For Royal (by For Compliment x Rotspon) - approved for 20 mares
  • Herakles (by Gribaldi x Michelangelo)
  • Durrenmatt (by Hirtentanz x Exorbitant) - approved for 20 mares
  • Sign of Freedom (by Sandro Hit x Hohenstein) - approved for 20 mares
  • Diamond of Glory (by Diamond Hit x Dream of Glory)
  • Deveraux (by Depardieu x Donnerhall)
  • First Dance (by Florestan x Donnerhall)

Four late-entry colts, who were not scheduled to appear at the approval but showed up nonetheless, were accepted for breeding:

  • Dubrovnik (by Diamond Hit x Regazzoni)
  • Grimaldi (by Gribaldi x Weltrubin)
  • Romulus von Nymphenburg (by Rock Forever x Furst Heinrich)
  • nameless colt (by Don Frederico x Wolkentanz I)

Ingo Pape's Duisbenburg (by Desperados x Weltmeyer) did not show up for approval in this category.
