The U.S. Olympic selection process for the 2012 Olympic Games in London has taken shape at the 2011 USDF Convention, where the dates and location for the U.S. Selection trials were announced.

There was little surprise in the decision to have the American selection trialsat the annual USEF Festival of Champions in Gladstone, New Jersey. The dates for the trials were set on 8 - 10 June and 15 - 17 June 2012.

The definite U.S. Olympic dressage team will be chosen after the trials. Three riders and one individual will be able to compete at the Games and alternates will be picked as well.

The U.S. Dressage team will prepare for the Games by spending three weeks of training at a farm one hour and a half outside of London.

“It is a very lovely place, small and private and fairly easy access to London for the athletes when they need a break,” Gribbons told Eurodressage. U.S. chef d'equipe Eva Salomon added that, "for security reasons we cannot reveal where we will be doing our Pre-Games training."
