America's number one Grand Prix rider Steffen Peters has unveiled a new star for the future at the 2011 USDF Symposium held not far from his home in San Diego, CA, USA.

With Peters number one Grand Prix horse Ravel (by Contango x Democraat) turning 14 in 2012, Steffen is continuing a line of succession by adding new stars to his barn. The 7-year old chestnut gelding Sundance is one new hope for the future in his horse collection.

The chestnut is a Hanoverian branded gelding born in 2004. As a youngster he was trained and competed by Corinna Gaus. Originally named Stuart Little (by Shakespeare in Love x De Niro x Warkant x Grand Royal) Gaus competed the 3-year old at the 2007 Hanoverian Riding Horse Championships in Verden.

The horse sold at the Hanoverian Elite auction in Verden for 110,000 euro to an American buyer. Until he was five he was trained at a professional Grand Prix yard, with Brit Julia Coppard briefly campaigning him at shows under the name Sundance. In 2010 the gelding moved to the USA and came in training with Courtney King-Dye.

The 7-year old Sundance is owned by Margeret and Joseph Koerner from Boston, U.S.A. and arrived at Steffen's barn in March 2011.

"Sunny will start in the small tour in February," Peters told Eurodressage. "He shows great talent for piaffe and passage and has an amazing temperament. He has a gigantic canter and trot and a good walk."
