Hesselteich's Grimaldi was named the champion of the 2011 Westfalian pony licensing in Munster-Handorf, Germany, on 24 - 26 November 2011. The 145 cm tall palomino stallion is by Gandalf x Donnerblitz.

The champion is bred by Gestut Hesselteich in Versmold, Germany, and was owned and presented at the licensing by Beckmann and Schurf. They sold to the pony to the Saxonian State Stud of Moritzburg.

The licensing committee was quite strict in their verdict, picking only 15 stallions out of 79 presented.

The reserve champion was the super trotting buckskin colt A New Star (by A Gorgeous x Charm of Nibelungen). He is bred by Marion Reimers and owned by Jill Jessica Mieleszko, who will be standing him at stud. She acquired the colt at the 2009 Westfalian Elite Auction for 21,000 euro.

The third ranked stallion was the 1.48m standing liver chestnut Deidimensional AT (by Dance Star x Dreamdancer). This mature looking colt had three good gaits but excelled in walk. He is bred and owned by Adolf Theo Schurf.

The first non-ranking stallion in the final ring was Melissa Mulchahey's palomino colt Golden State (by Golden Moonlight x Donchester). The colt is bred by Dietmar Boom and was presented by Jill Mieleszko, who will also stand him at stud. Mulchahey acquired this stallion after having seen him on the live streaming during the auction.

Also ranked in the final ring were the palomino Top Christobell  (by Top Champy x Rosedale Tiberius), bred and owned by Josef Volle and Del Estero (by Dance Star x Marsvogel xx), bred by Antonius Sternschulte and owned by Adolf Theo Schurf.

Fifteen stallions in total were sold at the auction following the licensing. There was great interest from abroad with clients from Holland and Belgium buying. Three non-licensed stallions sold to Canada. The averrage price for a non licensed Pony stallion was 4,125 euro while a licensed stallion cost 15,500 euro on average. The best jumper stallion sold for 19,000 €
