U.S. based Australian young rider Ashlea Day has been nominated by her federation to represent Australia at the 2011 Young Riders World Cup Finals in Frankfurt, Germany, on 14 - 18 December 2011.

Ashlea will be riding C.P. Perolus, a 14-year-old Dutch warmblood gelding (by Junior STV x Rossini). The young rider is trained by German born Silva Martin who is married to Australian eventer Boyd Martin.

“I’m so excited,” Day told Dressage-News.com. “I can’t believe it.” Silva joked on her blog about Ashlea’s selection for Frankfurt:
“Because it was a last-minute announcement, it actually works in our favor. Now we only have to deal with Ashlea’s emotions and nervous breakdowns for a little while! ”
