Furstenball Colt, Price Highlight of 2011 South German Foal Auction

The Furstenball x Royal Dance colt Foreigner GE became the price highlight of the 5th South German Elite Foal auction in Nordlingen on Saturday 23 July 2011. The bay colt, bred at Gestut Elstertal, sold for 30,000 euro to a dressage stable in Radolfzell.

The second best selling foal was a Bonifatius x Lanciano colt, bred by Martin Niedermaier from Aying, Germany. Bon Emotion sold for 20,000 euro. The most expensive show jumping foal for a Baloubet du Rouet x Contendro I, which sold for 16,000 euro to Switzerland.

There was much interest from abroad for the foals at this auction. Another Furstenball sold to Slovenia (6.800 €), a San Amour x Depardieu filly will be moving to the U.S (8.000 €).

Famous German soccer player Thomas Müller acquired a Destano x Weltmeyer colt for his wife Lisa. He paid 7,000 euro for it.

The average price for a foal at the 2011 South German Foal Auction was 7,162 €
