Danish Blue Hors Stud has announced that one of their best used breeding stallions, the Oldenburger Romanov (by Rohdiamant x Grundstein II), will no longer be available via fresh semen as of 2 July 2011.
Romanov and Blue Hors head rider Sune Hansen are fully focusing on qualifying for the 2011 European Dressage Championships which are held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on 17 - 21 August 2011. Therefore the stallion's breeding duties will be ended in July. Romanov will only be available as of then via frozen semen.
"We want to create optimal training conditions leading up to three major competitions over the next seven weeks," said Blue hors manager Esben Moller. "The CHIO in Aachen in the middle of July, the Danish Championships in Broholm at the end of July and if Sune is selected on the national team, than the European Championships mid August."
