Ulla Salzgeber and her top horse Herzruf's Erbe are not competing at the 2011 German Dressage Championships in Balve this weekend. The pair was excused because Salzgeber was forced to stay home with intestinal problems.
The Blonhofen based Salzgeber sustained food poisoning after a visit to a sushi restaurant and is too ill to compete. Due to her absence in Balve she will not be submitted to the German CDIO team for the 2011 CDIO Aachen, a mandatory competition for German European Championship team selection.
The German team for the CDIO Aachen will be based on the Balve performances. The four highest scoring riders are selected on the Aachen CDIO team. Salzgeber, who is counted as a team candidate after her great performances at the 2011 World Cup Finals and CDI Munich, will have to prove herself team worthy in the Aachen CDI-tour.
