Hubertus Schmidt's Dark Diamond Sold to Sweden

Hubertus Schmidt has sold the American owned 10-year old Westfalian mare Dark Diamond to Swedish Young Rider Elin Aspnas. The Grand Prix mare will be Elin's mout for the Under 25 competition and later on the Grand Prix.

Dark Diamond is bred by Martin Dieckhoff-Holsen is by Diamond Hit x Ramiro's Son. She was owned by Americans Dirk and Terri Kane of Diamante Farms in Wellington, FL, who initially acquired her as a sales horse. She was first trained by Michelle Gibson at the time but then shipped to Europe to be trained by Schmidt.

The horse made its international break through at the 2010 CDI Stuttgart and got high marks at the 2011 CDI Braunschweig and Dortmund.

Trained by Jan Brink, the 19-year old Elin Aspnas is long listed with the 8-year old Donna Romma (by Don Frederico x Warkant) for the Swedish Young Riders team that will compete at the 2011 European Young Riders Championships in Broholm, Denmark. She has also been compeing her GP schoolmaster Christo (by Consul x Gormet) and finished 10th at the 2010 Swedish Grand Prix Championships

Dark Diamond has been purchased by the Aspnas family and B Cap Dressage AB, a Gothenburg based company owned by the Jönsson family. Their daughter Emma Jönsson is the new rider of Swedish team pony B Capriole, which was owned by the Aspnas family and competed by Marina Mattsson.
