It seems to have become a tough year for the organizers of foals auctions in Europe. Yesterday the Danish Warmblood society cancelled their June foal auction and today it was announced that the famous SELL Foal auction in Holland will not take place this year.

Horses.nl reported today that the 2011 SELL foal auction in Deurne will not take place this year. The organizers have decided that they need more time to develop a new auction concept. "They want to make optimal use of the new possibilities via I.C.T.," horses.nl wrote. The changes the organizers want to make take more preparation time than expected and need to be tested first. The SELL organizers will be issuing an elaborate statement soon.

Yesterday the Danish warmblood society released the news that their June auction has been cancelled. This summer auction is traditionally held at the Vilhelmsborg equestrian centre but this year the society was unable to find a sufficient quantity of foals of good enough quality for the auction. The Danish warmblood society does not want to disappoint exhibitors nor potential customers and, therefore, called off the event.
