During the Festival of the Horse CDI-W/Y/J competition at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank, CA, March 30 – April 3, Markel Insurance will host a free seminar, “Mastering Good Horsemanship” with speaker Gil Merrick.

This special opportunity for exhibitors to learn skills to be the best they can in both riding and life will be available free of charge during the competition.

This seminar will distinguish in a clear and straightforward way what lies at the core of practicing good horsemanship and will identify what everyone needs to bring to bear in order to gain mastery in their efforts.  Merrick will explain that there are some hidden challenges that need to overcome in order to meet with success on a daily basis and then learn what can be done to overcome those challenges and enjoy higher levels of success on the path towards mastery.

Regardless of the role one plays in the world of horses – as rider, competitor, trainer, horse owner or dedicated enthusiast –all share a love for the animals, and as their stewards, everyone should strive every day to practice good horsemanship.  Like all things in life that are practiced, one must always strive to improve and become masterful in how results are produced.  This seminar will not only provide valuable insights into the nature of one’s effectiveness in working with horses, but will also explain how those insights translate over to those areas of daily life that are spent away from the horse – in relationships, with other interests, and anywhere that one has a commitment to producing extraordinary results.  Please join Merrick for this thought-provoking seminar that is guaranteed to make a difference in how one sees their relationship to the horses (and people) who share their lives.

The “Mastering Good Horsemanship” seminars will be held Thursday, March 31 at 4:30pm, and Saturday, April 2 at 10:30am and 4:30pm next to the show office.
