On Saturday and Sunday 12-13 March 2011, an FEI endorsed judges' seminar was held at the 2011 Sunshine Tour CDI in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain, directed by Mexican O-judge Maribel Alonso de Quinzanos.

Sponsored by Equestrian Sport Promotion Foundation, whose President is La Infanta Doña Elena (the daughter of the Spanish king), the seminar was a first step in strengthening the base of the Iberian judges platform as well as the sport in general through education.

Twenty five Spanish national and local judges attended the clinic and listenend to the exposition of Maribel Alonso on all aspects of judging, including the latest rules and regulations, the new half point system and the judging trends at the last important competitions.

"It was very interesting to listen her explanations about her judging of Juan Muñoz and Fuego at the Kür of Kentucky," said Teresa Fontan, dressage director at the Montenmedio equestrian centre in Vejer de la Frontera. "They also analysed the video made by Spanish Nacho Grosso with the mixture of Fuego and Totilas tests."
