107 Stallions Registered for 2011 BWP Stallion Licensing

One hundred and seven stallions have been registered in the first phase to participate in the 2011 Belgian Warmblood Stallion Licensing, which takes placein January and March 2011.

Ninety-three stallions are show jumping bred, fourteen are dressage colts.

2010 was the year in which the Belgian warmblood society reigned supreme. The Belgian show jumping team won bronze at the 2010 World Equestrian Games and Belgian Philippe Le Jeune became World Champion with Vigo d'Arsouilles. BWP foundation sire Darco is still the world's number one jumping producing sire and Ulysse is now also number two in the show jumping world rankings.

The second phase of the 2011 Belgian warmblood licensing takes place at Het Zilveren Spoor in Moorsele on 19-21 January 2011. The 3 and 4-year old colts will be presented there. The older stallions will appear during the third place at De Warre in Neeroeteren, on 16-19 March 2011.

Out of 17 registered stallions, 73 are BWP bred:

  • 68 BWP stallions - show jumping
  • 5 BWP stallions - dressage
  • 9 non-BWP stallions - dressage
  • 25 non-BWP stallions - show jumping

The BWP Premium Stallion auction takes place at Zilveren Spoor on 22 January 2011.
