2010 Young Riders World Cup Final

The complete list of participants for the 2010 FEI Young Riders World Cup Final to be held at the 2010 CDI-W Frankfurt in Germany on 15 - 19 December 2010 is known. Nine riders out of 14 in total are representatives of the European dresssage countries. Five come from all over the world, ranging from Brazil to New Zealand.

The Austrian equestrian federation selected Nicole Osterwald as their representative. She was third at the 2009 Austrian Championships and fifth at the 2010 Championships. Aboard her 15-year old Holsteiner Colani Sing (by Contender x Lorenz) she was also the only Austrian young rider to compete at the 2010 European Championships in Kronberg.

Tahnee Waelkens has been selected to represent Belgium in Frankfurt. The 19-year old was member of the Belgian Young Riders team for the 2010 European Championships. She'll be saddling her steady mount Sandiegobese, an 11-year old Dutch warmblood gelding by Feliciano x Highline.

Danish Anna Kasprzak has had an incredibly successful 2010 show season. She won team and individual kur bronze at the 2010 European Championships and won the 2010 Ecco Cup Finals in Denmark last weekend. Kasprzak has been riding two horses in the international YR tests: the Westfalian stallion Blue Hors Future Cup (by Florestan) and the Danish warmblood mare Donna Fetti (by Don Schufro).

Pauline Leclerq has been a steady force on the French pony, junior and young riders team. The now 19-year old Maubeuge based young rider will compete Khallgazel du Maupas, a 12-year old stallion by Gauguin de Lully out of a Donnerhall dam.

British Melissa Beer's participation at the World Cup Finals was announced by British Dressage begin November. Beer has represented Great Britain on the junior dressage team in 2007, 2008 and 2009 with her long-term ride Celestial King, a Dutch warmblood gelding by Balzflug x Casanova.

The strongest contender in the 2010 Young Riders World Cup Final will probably be German Fabienne Lutkemeier on her chestnut gelding D'Agostino (by De Niro x Shogun xx). She won triple gold at the 2010 European Championships and is the current small tour score world record holder. Dutch Danielle van Mierlo, who won bronze at the Europeans with her big black gelding Ucento, will certainly be breathing down Fabienne's neck.

Swedish Young Rider number one, Sara Henrietta Bergstrom-Kallstrom needs to make a big haul to get her top horse Diezel (by De Niro) to the World Cup Finals, but she's a strong contender for a top place.

Swiss Anne Rita Bertschy and her bay gelding Tenson, a 10-year old Dutch warmblood gelding by Krack C x Zeoliet, were selected to represent Switzerland but will not appear at the final in Frankfurt. Currently training in The Netherlands, Bertschy had to withdraw because her horse is not fit.
