This fall the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) hosted three Youth and Pony Outreach Clinics, giving aspiring dressage riders the opportunity to hone their skills with international rider and trainer Lendon Gray.
These two day sessions provided riders with personal and group riding instruction as well as informational lectures. Parents and trainers were also invited to participate in information sessions that focused on how to best guide young riders through FEI pony, junior and young rider competition.
The first clinic took place at Tempel Farms in Old Mill Creek, IL, October 23-24. Seven riders took part in the clinic. Hassler Dressage at Riveredge in Chesapeake City, MD was the host of the East coast clinic that took place October 30-31. Nine riders participated in the clinic that also featured lectures from Scott Hassler and international rider and 2008 Olympian Courtney King-Dye. The clinic series wrapped up on the West coast at the Starr Vaughn Equestrian Center in Elk Grove, CA on November 6 and 7. Nine riders took part in the clinic.
The USEF would like to extend a special thank you to the host facilities and individuals who helped coordinate the clinics: Sherill Tripp, Scott and Suzanne Hassler, Jann Clark, and Michele Vaughn, without their gracious support these valuable opportunities would not be possible.
