American Young Rider Champion Meagan Davis (Stone Ridge, NY) has bested the United States rankings for the FEI World Cup Dressage Final for Young Riders and has earned the invitation to represent the United States in Frankfurt, Germany for the Final, to be held December 15-19, 2010.
Twenty-one year-old Davis will ride Bentley, a horse on which she has found success throughout the levels. Bentley, a 17-year-old Danish Warmblood owned by Kelly Roetto, helped Davis earn her first U.S. Young Rider Dressage Championship at the 2010 Festival of Champions in August.
The pair qualified for the 2010 FEI World Cup™ Dressage Final for Young Riders by having the highest average (with two scores to count) in the FEI Young Rider Freestyle Test in CDI-Y competitions during 2010. Their average score of 70.475% sealed a trip to Germany, the first time Davis will compete overseas.
“I’m excited and nervous all in one,” said Davis. “I am very proud of Bentley and I as a team, I set a high goal for us in wanting to go to the Young Rider World Cup Final this year and we achieved that goal.”
