Praise Me Named 2010 Trakehner Mare Champion

The 3-year oold bay Trakehner mare Praise Me (by Goldschmidt x Tuareg) has been proclaimed Trakehner Mare Champion at the 2010 Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumunster, Germany, on Saturday 30 October 2010.

Friedrich Jahncke, honory president of the Hanoverian society, commented that "this mare combines harmony, elegance and quality of gaits at the highest level. She's mature and showed herself extraordinarily here at the show."

Trained by Jana Freund, state premium mare Praise Me was 9th in the 3-year old qualifier (7.92) at the 2010 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf. At the auction following her proclamation as Mare Champion, she sold for 90,000 euro. Praise Me is bred by Irmgard Dohmen.

State Premium Mare Schneerose (by Mon Baron x Michelangelo) became the reserve champion. The chestnut filly is bred and owned by Gestut Tasdorf and was praise for her suppleness and relaxation as well as elastic movements. She sold at auction for 36,000 euro.

The Dutch bred Trakehner mare Herbstsonne (by Herzensdieb x K2) finished in third place. "This mare has it all: she is a good sport horses as well as a high quality broodmare," said Jahncke. Herbstsonne is bred and owned by Twan van der Steen.

Ten riding horses were sold at auction for an average price of 26,400 euro. Eleven mares were auctions and they achieved an average price of 12,722 euro.  Twenty-two foals were sold for 6,872 euro on average. The best seller was the young stallion prospect Distelprinz (by Kronprinz x Gribaldi).
