Three stallions have exited the 2010 KWPN Autumn Stallion Performance Testing in Stegeren, The Netherlands, after a negative report from the stallion licensing committee. On 28 October the committee assessed the progress of the stallions
who are taking part in this autumn testing, which will conclude on 24 November 2010.
The KWPN society released a summary of the assessment which included the following information:
The black Daddy Cool x Jazz is gaining strength and there is less hitting of his own shoes compared to last week. The stallion has a good walk and strong canter. Three Jazz offspring are participating in the testing. The charming chestnut stallion with De Niro as dam sire was a bit under the weather today. He was tired which showed in his movements. The Jazz x Ferro was on the aids and showed good rideability. The dark bay stallion has three good basic gaits but he should have better self carriage.The Jazz x Welt Hit II is also very rideable. His hind leg should move more under the body towards the gravity point, especially in walk and trot. He has a good canter.
The Painted Black x Goodtimes has three correct basic gaits. His neck is slightly set horizontally and he should have more expression in front while moving. The Serano Gold x Michelangelo colt should have more willingness to work. His movements are good enough, but lack strength and speed. The well built Vivaldi x San Remo stallion should have a better use of his body and his frontleg lacks shoulder freedom. Bretton Woods (by Johnson x De Niro) performed well. His trot has become more constant and he has a canter with much self carriage and expression.
The stallion licensing committee decided to send home three stallions. The Romanov x Donnerhall should have had more body use and a hind leg that carried more. The Lord Leatherdale x Negro had a very powerful canter but his incorrect leg position in front (he lifts both front legs outside in trot) were a reason to finish his testing. The Uphill x Rohdium is a large framed stallion with good canter, but his hind leg does not carry in trot.
