Alltech Recognizes First Alltech A-Plus Award Recipients

At the 2010 World Equestrian Games Sunday, Alltech announced the first recipients of the Alltech ‘A+’ Award, established to honor creativity, passion, and excellence in equine journalism. The media contest was organized in partnership with American Horse Publications (AHP) and the International Alliance of Equestrian Journalists (IAEJ) and open to the members of both organizations.



Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech, presented an Alltech ‘A+’ Award and $500 check to the following members of the media:
• Kim and Allen MacMillan, IAEJ members – Photo published in April and June 2010 issues of Equine Times
• Alexandra Beckstett, AHP member - “Peerless Park” story published in the Spring 2010 issue of Keeneland
• Kat Netzler, AHP member – Published photo of William Fox-Pitt
• Marti McGinnis, AHP – Published video

“On behalf of all my colleagues at Alltech, I want to recognize the dedication of these equestrian media who work long, often thankless hours in all weather to chronicle the stories of the horse,” said Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech. “The Alltech A+ Award is just a small token of our appreciation for the passion and creativity of these journalists.”

The Alltech ‘A+’ Award honors one journalist from each organization for an Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games-related feature in the following categories:
1. Published Article
2. Published Photo
3. Published Broadcast –includes video, radio, and podcast

Another set of journalists will be awarded in a post-Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games contest. Entries must be published between July 2, 2010 and January 3, 2011, and must be submitted through AHP or IAEJ by 12 a.m. EST on January 3rd.
