After much deliberation the Swiss Equestrian Federation has announced that two individual riders will represent Switzerland at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington, KY, on 27 September - 1 October 2010.

The two individual riders selected to go are:

  • Marcela Krinke-Susmelj, riding Irene Meyer's 14-year old Oldenburg gelding Corinth (by Cheenook x Fumiro)
  • Elisbeth Eversfield-Koch, riding the 17-year old Holsteiner gelding The Lion King B (by Landos x Rando)

Krinke-Susmelj will be defending her national Grand Prix title at the 2010 Swiss Dressage Championships in Eggenwil on 20 - 22 August 2010 after which she'll be preparing for WEG.

It will be Elisabeth Eversfield-Koch's first time representing her country at a Grand Prix Championships. "I'm really looking forward to it," said Eversfield-Koch. "I have to thank my close friends for this, my trainer Ulli Eggers and my team of workers. Without their help I wouldn't have been invited to compete at WEG. Thirty-six years after my mother a rider from our family gets the opportunity to represent Switzerland again. I will give it 100% to get the best result."
