2010 European Junior and Young Riders Championships

Junior Rider Charlott Maria Schürmann and Young rider Fabienne Lutkemeier won the individual test gold medal today at the 2010 European Junior and Young Riders Championships at Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff's Schafhof in Kronberg Germany, 24 July 2010. The quality of riding today was exceptionally high in both divisions and the judges were pretty much on the dot in sorting out the ranking.

German junior Charlott Maria Schürmann put down a lovely energetic test with Britta Klatte's 17-year old Hanoverian stallion World of Dreams (by World Cup I x Cardinal xx) and scored 74.053%. Coming very close to that score and placing first with three of five judges was silver medallist Cathrine Dufour. This sympathetic Dane had an excellent ride on her 7-year old Danish bred Atterupgaards Cassidy (by Caprimond x Donnerhall) and achieved 73.842%. Dutch Danielle Houtvast and her 12-year old KWPN bred Rambo (by Gribaldi x Amor) completed the podium as she won the bronze medal with a 73.421% earning test. It was great for the sport to see that podium was mixed with riders from three different nations. German newcomer Sophie Holkenbrink, who only riding first level tests last year, finished fourth on Show Star (by Sandro Hit x Feinbrand) with 71.632%

Fabienne Lutkemeier and her fantastic elastic Hanoverian D'Agostino (by De Niro x Shogun xx) dominated the Young Riders individual test winning gold with a score of 77.895%. German Sanneke Rothenberger was breathing down her neck and grabbed silver. Aboard the Oldenburg Deveraux OLD (by De Niro x Rohdiamant) Rothenberger was a noselength behind Lutkemeier with her 77.158% score. The bronze went to Dutch Daniëlle van Mierlo on her powerhouse KWPN stallion Ucento (by Metall x Allegro). The charming pair, which had an exemplary contact with the bit, scored 74.368%. Stella Charlott Roth and her black dame Diva Royal (by Don Frederico x Warkant) finished fourth with 74.105%.

Tonight the Nations' party takes place in the courtyard in which each team will do a little studied dance or play. Eurodressage will bring a very detailed report of the two individual tests with tons of photos later. Tomorrow is the Kur to Music finals
