The 17-year old licensed German Reitpony stallion Power and Paint will be standing at stud at the renown dressage facility Stable Korenbloem in Weert, The Netherlands, for the 2010 breeding season.
The executorial sale of Power and Paint in Weert was cancelled this morning 26 May 2010 and Korenbloem manager Craig Rawlins, who has been keeping the stallion under legal custody, told Eurodressage exclusively that the gorgeous roan licensed pony will now be offered to breeders world wide for a stud fee of 450 euro.
Power and Paint was recently vet checked at the Equine Clinic in Someren, The Netherlands, and was found in good health to fulfill any breeding duties. However, he is no longer suitable for competition sport due to a tendon injury following years of top level training and competition.
Power and Paint is one of the most successful FEI Dressage ponies in Europe ever. Bred by Winfried Willems, the roan stallion is by Power Boy out of a Dancer dam. In 1998 he became Bundeschampion as a 5-year old and in 1999 he finished fifth at the Bundeschampionate. From 2001 till 2008 he was a fixed member of the Dutch Pony Team at the European Championships.
Power and Paint won six silver team medals at six European Pony Championships with three different riders: Marrigje van Baalen, Mara de Vries and Angela Krooswijk. Marrigje van Baalen won individual silver at the 2004 European Pony Championships in Poland. Angela Krooswijk won individual bronze at the 2006 European Pony Championships in France.
