Sjak Laarakkers has announced his resignation as KWPN stallion licensing committee member. Laarakkers, who became a committee member in January 2006, has decided to focus more on his own dressage stable.

"Besides my job as trainer, I also breed horses. As a breeder of stallions I hope to have a licensed stallion myself one day and it is difficult to combine that with being a member of the stallion licensing committee," Laarakkers told the KWPN society.

The 46-year old Laarakkers did not participate as a judge in this year's spring 70-day stallion performance testing in Stegeren, because two of his breeding products were included. He was replaced by Dirk Reine, who also filled in for him on other conflicting KWPN events.

The KWPN society hopes that they can rely on Laarakkers' expertise in other fields of the society. KWPN will be looking for a substitute which needs to be found before 1 November 2010.
