The well known Danish warmblood mare Donna Silver has been sold to Italian Grand Prix rider Silvia Rizzo. The 9-year old grey mare was the Danish Young Horse Champion as a 5-year old and the reserve champion as a 6-year old.

Donna Silver is by Don Schufro out of Wilma (by Willemoes x Cannon Row xx) and is bred by Lillian and Carl Erik Jensen. She is a renowned mare in Denmark as she was proclaimed Mare of the Year in 2004. Nicolai Kowalski started her under saddle and she sold for the record price of 76,000 euro to Berit Nielsen at the 2006 Danish Spring Auction in Herning.

She came in training with Bettina Laisbo and got long listed for the Danish team that would compete at the 2006 and 2007 World Young Horse Championships. She never made it to Verden but on national level she became Danish Champion and Reserve champion as a 5 and 6-year old.

Laisbo moved her up the levels and the mare was competed at Prix St Georges level in 2009. At the CDN in Broholm in July the pair won the Prix St Georges with 71,20%.

Donna Silver will make the move from Denmark to Italy tomorrow. The grey will be Rizzo's small tour horse while she is aiming her Grand Prix horse Donnerbube II (by Donnerhall x Pik Bube II) at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky.
