Two Australian Youth Development Squad riders from NSW will be representing Australia in the dressage Derby to be held at the NZ Pony and Young Rider Championships in January 2010.
Jessica Willard from Quorrobolong and Sancha Butler from Galston have been selected to compete on borrowed horses at the event in Taupo from the 9-10th January 2010.
This will be Jessica's second time competing in this competition as she and Bianca Barnes took home the YR Trans Tasman trophy at the same event held earlier this year. Australia has won 3 out of the last 4 young rider Derby's against New Zealand and will be looking to secure the win again in 2010.
Jan Smith, the National Youth Development coordinator, will be traveling with the riders and acting as Chef d'Equipe.
