Hanoverian Breeding News

The Hanoverian breeding stallion Welcome passed away at age 22. The liver chestnut stallion (by World Cup I x Grande x Artur) was standing at stud at Mo and Jim Swanson's Rolling Stone Farm and was suffering from old age.

In agreement with his Dutch owner De Havikerwaard it was decided to put him down.

Welcome made his show debut at FEI level with Isabell Werth in the mid 1990s. Between 1995 and 1997, he won the Grand Prix in Munster, Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin, Bremen and Frankfurt.

He became owned by the Dutch stallion station De Havikerwaard in april 1998. He was then trained and competed by Leida Strijk, but Ebba van Essen soon took over the ride on this horse. He also stood briefly in training with Coby van Baalen but in the early 2000s it was Bart Veeze who competed the stallion at international level.

Some of Welcome's winning offspring are Sledgehammer (ds: Ladalco), Ulixes (dm. Belisar), Trix (ds. Donnerschlag) and Amine (ds. Bentley)

Welcome was approved for the Hanoverian, Oldenburg, Westfalian and KWPN society.
