Rhodes Scholar Passed Away

The liver chestnut Hannoverian licensed stallion Rhodes Scholar had to be humanely put down after an accident in the paddock.

Rhodes Scholar was by Rohdiamant out of Gardenia (by Grafenburg x Akzent II). The 12-year old stallion was bred by Wilhelm Klausing out of the famous Wolgarune dam line which also produced Dramatic, Romantik, Donnerprinz, Al Mansur, Allround, and Crisp.

With an actual breeding index of 162 points, Rhodes Scholar was on the 7th place of all German dressage stallions.

He was licensed in Oldenburg 1999 and sold to Holly Simensen from West Palm Beach, Florida. He then stood at Ludwig Kathmann's stallion station from 2001 to 2003.

Rhodes Scholar won many shows at lower level in Germany scoring  up to 8.8  and qualifying for the 6-year old Bundeschampionate Finals.Ridden by Kira Wulferding Rhodes Scholar also placed in the 6-year old final at the 2003 World Championship for young dressage horses in Verden 2003.

Last year the stallion sold to Ethel Opländer and got competed by trainer Holga Finken at international small tour level. Under Opländer he booked successes up to third level.
