The KWPN licensed stallion Negro has been proclaimed Keur stallion. He will be honoured at the 2009 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, on February 6, 2009.

Besides Negro, the show jumping stallion Larino (by Concorde) received the keur predicate. The jumper Heartbreaker (by Nimmerdor x Silvano) was proclaimed preferent sire for his and his offspring's outstanding achievements in the jumping sport.

The 13-year old black Dutch warmblood stallion Negro is by Ferro out of keur mare Fewrie (by Variant x Gondelier). Under owner Anne van Olst, he won the KWPN Stallion Competition in 2000 and 2001 and was the best performing Dutch horse at the 2001 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany. A severe injury abruptly ended the short sport career of this stallion.

Negro, which was initially named Novabor, was bred by Mr Borgers from Lunteren, The Netherlands. The stallion has a dressage index of 143 points with a large group of offspring excelling in sport. For instance, Tardi became the 2004 Danish Young Horse Champion, Valegro was the British Young Horse champion under Carl Hester, and Troy became the 2006 Champion at Dutch Dressage Championships Z1 Level.
