Hanoverian Breeding News

Danish equestrian magazine Ridehesten broke the news that Paul Schockemohle has sold his Hanoverian licensed stallion Samarant to the Dane Brian F. Christensen of BFC Horses. The Sandro Hit x Brentano II offspring is a popular breeding stallion world wide

, but is one of the many Sandro Hit sons Schockemohle has at his own breeding station.

Sabine Petersen and Martin Hussmann of Stald Hussmann in Børkop, Denmark, are delighted with the investment of BFC Horses. Saramarant will arrive on August 1, 2008, and be stationed at their riding center. Sabine will take care of the further training of the seven year old dressage stallion.

BFC Horses has been investing a lot in quality sport horses. They recently acquired show jumper Chellys Z and FEI young dressage horse Atterupsgaards Cassidy, which is qualified to compete under Sabine Petersen at the 2008 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden.

Stald Hussman often works together with horse dealer Klaus Munkedal and his business partner, Grand Prix dressage rider Sanne Hennigsen. The latter joined BFC Horses to Schockemohle's to try out the stallion.

"We wanted to try out the stallion with the help of Sanne, who is very experienced and also helps Sabine with Cassidy. Like our other stallions, Samarant's semen will be collected here with us, so our riding centre is now also a stallion station," Martin Hussmann said.

Under Schockemohle's stable rider Anja Engelbart, Samarant competed at the 2005 Bundeschampionate. In 2007 he produced 20% of the foals that qualified for the German Foal Championship Finals. Two out ten foals in the Finals were by Samarant.
