Johann Hinnemann's licensed stallion Roman Nature will be competed by Angela Krooswijkin the future. The gorgeous bay stallion by Rohdiamant was campaigned by Marlies van Baalen up to international small tour level before he took a long break to recover from an injury. Roman Nature is now fit again and Krooswijk will ride him at junior riders level. She will also be showing her other Rohdiamant offspring, Red Diamond, and Revino.

The KWPN licensed stallion Kimberley (by Cabochon) has been retired from competition. The chestnut stallion gained fame internationally under Kebie van der Heyden and was then competed by Stephanie Dorr. At the 2008 KWPN Stallion Licensing, Kimberley competed at his last show in the VHO Trophy class. The 16-year old stallion will now retired.

The United States Equestrian Team (USET) Foundation announced that it awardedgrants totaling $2,295,000 to the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) for High Performance programs in 2007. The USET Foundation funding provided support, in whole or in part, for athletes in seven High Performance disciplines to participate in national and international events. The High Performance disciplines are dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping, and vaulting.

The KWPN licensed stallion Osmium (by Ferro x Calypso I) has been sold to Ireland. The black stallion, which is a former Pavo cup winner, was in training with Anky van Grunsven when he sustained a severe neck injury several years ago and never completely recovered from it. The beautiful black stallion was used as a breeding stallion from then on and now got sold to the Irish Drumhowan Stud in Monaghan, Ireland, where he will stand at stud.

Following their recent performances in Europe, the Australian Dressage Selectorshave placed Maree Tomkinson and her horse Lanzaro on the Elite Dressage squad and subsequently on the Olympic Shadow Team. Lyndal Oately has been added to the Dressage Development Squad on her horse Feramo K. Lyndal is based in Germany with Patrik Kittel.

The New South Wales Government has announced the devastating equine influenza (EI) outbreak has been eradicated. Since August of last year the Australian horse world experienced a state-wide lockdown preventing all horse movements and forcing the cancellation of every horse event in NSW. Whilst there will still be a requirement to have a Travelling Horse Statement in NSW and a Waybill in Queensland for the transport of horses and events need to be registered, the announcements allow a return to virtually "normal" conditions for the sport and the industry.

Australian young rider Bianna Burgess, 21, is training with Johan and Penny Rockx in Essen, Belgium and says that she is having the time of her life. Briana and Daylight have had three regional winter competitons in February in Belgium with excellent results. They were second in the Prix St Georges in Stable Wittenberg and second at Young Rider Prix St Georges at Young Stables in Zandhoven scoring 65.38%. Briana competed last weekend at Wittenberg against 15 combinations in the Prix St Georges and again placed second with a score of 65.78% just behind the winner on 66.00%. Briana starts the CDIs in Holland in May when the summer series begins.

Iznogood Firfod became the champion of the 2008 Danish Trakehner Stallion Licensing at the Broholm Equestrian Centre in Broholm, Denmark, February 23, 2008. Bred and owned by Morten Plenborg, Iznogood is by Godot out of a Gribaldi x Schwadroneur dam.

American Trakehner sire Schönfeld has passed away. Schönfeld *E* is by Meilenstein out of Schönau II (by Ordensglanz - Keith) and was bred by Hans Steinbrück in Gilde, Germany, and last owned by Mae Jean Fichter of Mae's Way Farm in Kentucky. The grey stallion was approved in Neumünster in 1981 as a premium stallion, passed his 100 day test in Adelheidsdorf and was imporated to the US in 1986. He was a leading Hunter sire in North America for many years and his contribution to the positive reputation of the Trakehner in the Hunter Sport is one of his greatest achievements. 

The licensed Swedish warmblood stallion Chirlon (by Ceylon x Kaliber) is back at his home base, Jan Brink's Tullstorp Farm in Sweden. The stallion has been standing at stud in The Netherlands since 1995, where he was trained and competed up to Grand Prix level.
