Sir Nymphenburg, Champion of the 2008 Suddeutsche Stallion Licensing

The chestnut Sir Nymphenburg became the champion of the 2008 Suddeutsche Stallion Licensing in Munich, Germany, on January 26, 2008. The 3-year old stallion by Sir Donnerhall x Regazzoni x Brentano II was proclaimed licensing champion

and sold for 150,000 euro at auction to Helmet Freiherr von Fircks, the owner of Gestut Nymphenburg in Munich. The stallion will stand at stud at the Landsgestut Marbach.

Bred by Stephan Kurz and reared by Karl-Heinz Bauer, the stallion was owned and presented at the licensing by Katrin Burger and her partner Joachim Neubert. The licensing committee, which consisted of Gert Gussmann, Dr. Hartwig Tewes, Hans-Willy Kusserow, Uwe Mieck, Christoph Hess and Karsten Huck called Sir Nymphenburg, "a worthy champion with big movements and a solid engagement in trot which we scored 9."

70 stallions were presented for licensing and 32 stallions were accepted, of which 14 made it to the premium ring.

Centaro Arena became the licensing champion in the show jumping division. This Cento x Pilot offspring is owned by Horst Karcher (owner of Gestut Dobel) and 50 % of the ownership was sold at auction for 77,000 euro to a Mexican owner. The breeder of this champion is the late Alfred Schmelcher, former president of the Baden Wurttemberg Breed Society.

Reserve Champion is a dark bay colt by Lord Loxley x Caligula x Rasso. Owner by Tina von Block, the stallion moved with much elasticity. The breeder of this dressage talent if Martin Niedermair, who also bred the renowned Lord Sinclair. The colt sold for 45,000 euro at auction to England.
