Jennie Loriston-Clarke has been voted new British Dressage Chairman. All BD members were able to cast their vote on one of only two candidates for chair, Jennie Loriston-Clarke and Dane Rawlins.

The majority decided in favour of Loriston-Clarke, who will be succeeding outgoing chair Desi Dillingham.

At the British Dressage headquarters, it was announced today that Loriston-Clarke won by 822 votes to 705. All 12,300 BD members were eligible to vote, and chief executive David Holmes told British magazine Horse and Hound that he was delighted with 12% turnout.

"What we are most happy about is that so many people voted," he told H&H. "It's a good figure and shows that people really care about who their chairman is."

Loriston-Clarke is an international dressage judge and has represented Great Britain at five Olympic Games. She will take up the position of chair with immediate effect.
