Hanoverian Licensing Champion Lauda Died Unexpectedly

Lauda, the 2006 Hanoverian Licensing Champion, has died unexpectedly at the Equine Clinic of Hannover. The owner, Gestüt Sprehe, released the following statement:

"The 3-year old Hanoverian Licensing Champion Lauda was submitted to the Equine Clinic of Hannover begin January with an infection. On January 30, 2007, he passed away there following complete organ failure."

Lauda is by Lauries Crusador xx out of Raphaela (by Raphael x Spitzbube). He was proclaimed Champion of the 2006 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing in Verden, Germany. At the auction following the licensing, Lauda sold for 230,000 euro to Gestut Sprehe.

Bred by the brothers Schmoldt from Oederquart and presented by dressage rider Hans-Peter Mohr, Lauda impressed the judges at the licensing with his quality paces and correct conformation.
