The CDI Hansbeke, the only outdoor international dressage competition hosted in Belgium, will not take place in 2007 but has promised to return on the FEI calendar in 2008.

In 2006, the CDI Hansbeke was the first successful outdoor international show hosted in Belgium in a very long time. Numerous international dressage riders, including Anky van Grunsven and Imke Schellekens-Bartels, competed at Carlo and Yannick Vanhove's new equestrian facility in Hansbeke, Belgium, and the show was generally considered a big success.

"Still, I want to consolidate my facility first, by building an indoor school and boxes round the outdoor arena," Van Hove explained. "That's why I decided to skip this year, but I want to be back in the spring of 2008. Our show will be a selection trial for the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong. The show has to be better than in 2006, but that means providing better facilities as well as finding more associates who can help me structure the outdoor show."
