FEI Decides to Ban Over-sized Ponies

The FEI has finally showed guts and perseverence and has decided to ban over-sized ponies from the international pony scene. FEI secretary-general Michael Stone told Eurodressage that, "the FEI Bureau has accepted that for 2007 all ponies will be measured at Championships.

The full details and protocols are being worked on and all NFs and interested parties will be informed shortly." Complete details on the FEI's decision will follow shortly on Eurodressage.com. All ponies standing over 148 cm are out and the pony sport will be pure again!

In an official FEI press release, the FEI wrote the following:

The FEI Bureau held its statutory meeting on 17 November in Dubai (UAE). The following items were discussed, approved and/or will be presented for approval to the 2006 General Assembly in Estoril (POR):

PONY RIDERS 
A proposal to measure all ponies at the FEI European Pony Riders Championships was approved. The exact details and procedures are under discussion and will be published shortly
