To be or not to be the first..”, that was not a question for the Danish dressage rider Lone Jörgensen in Kaposvár ( HUN) who won the FEI World Cup Dressage qualifier on her bay gelding Hardthof’s Ludewig G last Sunday.
Her victory was sealed with a tremendous lead of 3,30 % ahead of British Fiona Bigwood and exactly 5 % head of third placed rider Yuriy Kovshov of Ukraine.
The best home rider, Zsófia Dallos, daughter of the 25-time Hungarian champion Gyula, finished sixth in the seventh and last competition including 15 riders. The triumphant pair had already won the Intermediate II on Friday while the first place in the Prix St. Georges and Intermediate I went to Udo Lange of Germany riding Giacometti.
All other competitions during the weekend of CSIO3*-W Kaposvar, such as the Grand Prix B, the Intermediate I Freestyle Test and the Grand Prix Special were won by Canadian Christilot Hanson-Boylen on Gachino and Don Valentino. With these three victories and her second places in the first two competitions she was the most successful among the 60 riders participating.
Even if Athens (GRE) was holding an FEI World Cup qualifier just a few days before Kaposvár, the Hungarian organisers were satisfied to welcome such a high number of competitors coming from no less than fifteen nations.
In the history of Kaposvár CDI, Germany and Hungary won eight times each, while Switzerland was the winner last year. The 18th winner of the Hungarian CDI-W; Lone Jörgensen had finished 7th individually at the 2002 FEI World Dressage Championship in 2002, and was a member of the Danish Team which finished 5th of this year’s European Championship.
