Westfalian Auctions in Münster-Handorf

At the 2005 Elite Foal Auction in Munster Handorf, three foals achieved the top selling price of 32,000 euro. Without a doubt, the revellation at this foal auction were the Laudabilis (Lauries Crusador xx x Warkant) foals with their leggy, uphill conformation and elastic gaits.

The first foal that sold for 32,000 euro was Laudestan, a bay colt by Laudabilis x Florestan. Bred by Reinhard Jaite, Laudestand was a super supple, long legged mover with beautiful self carriage. Cok Mudde of Magic Stables in The Netherlands purchased this star.

The scond 32,000 euro selling foal was also by Laudabilis. Leonow, a small but leggy chestnut colt out of a Fidermark dam, sold to Gerd Knoop of Gestut Hoftehof in Meppen. Knoop also secured the fantastic Fashion Henry (Furst Heinrich x Prince Thatch xx) for that same top knock down price.

The best selling pony foal was the lovely moving Vicomte (by Viscount x Durello). Bred by Wilhelm Kelle, Vicomte sold for 5,000 to Hessia.

The average price for a foal was 8.548 €. Colts sold for an average of 9,194 euro while the fillies went for an average price of 7,381 euro.
