The British Dressage Pony selectors (Maureen Newall, Rachel Hillier and Cynthia Llwewllen-Palmer) have announced the dressage riders who will represent Great Britain at the Pony European Championships, to be held at Pratoni Del Vivaro, Italy, 29-31 July 2005.
The team will be: -
Samantha Harrison (14 years old) on Manitu N
Georgina Roberts (14 years old) on Gigolo
Portia Manning (15 years old) on D.H.I. Langar
Alice Thompson (14 years old) on Diamond Rubin
Chef d'Equipe: Islay Auty
Team Trainer: Ian Woodhead
The British Pony team will head to the Italy with many years experience behind the equine side of their partnerships as Manitu N, Gigolo and DHI Langar have all been part of the Pony European Dressage Championship teams in previous years. Leading the pack Manitu N has been on every team since 2000, winning silver and bronze team medals with former riders Maria Eilberg and Lorna Edmonds, plus team bronze with current rider Samantha Harrison in 2004.
