2005 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses

British world class performance rider Emma Hindle has been selected for the British team to represent her country Great Britain at the 2005 European Dressage Championships in Moscow, Russia, July 27-31, 2005.

Based on her outstanding performances aboard the Hanoverian licensed stallion Wie Weltmeyer (Weltmeyer x Dynamo), the British Dressage selectors David Trott, Sandy Philips and Judy Harvey nominated Hindle on the team alongside Carl Hester, Wayne Channon and Fiona Bigwood. Hindle is also selected as reserve on her alternate Grand Prix horse Lancet (Wenzel x Shogun xx).

Hindle has set up a meticulous show schedule that maps her road to Moscow. Her most recent stops ‘en route’ to the Europeans were the CDI Berne (SUI) and Barzago (ITA), where she rode herself back into the top five on leader board.

On Wie Weltmeyer Hindle placed second in the Barzago Grand Prix with 68,500%. Her kur to music earned her a significant 72,400% and a fourth place, consolidating the excellent form she has been in this 2005 show season. “I’m very happy with Wally because I was a bit unconcentrated in the Grand Prix and made a mistake in a single flying change. We still got a very nice score,” Hindle said.

Emma’s 12-year old Hanoverian stallion Lancet is also upward bound on the score board. At Christine Stuckelberger’s show in Berne, Switzerland, Lancet placed second in the Grand Prix with 69.417% and fifth in the Special with 68.80%. “He was super there; really amazing,” an ecstatic Hindle explained. “It was a very hot weekend and the hotter it gets the more motivated he is. Despite some small mistakes I made, he was still together and listened to me. He really stayed on my side and that was an amazing feeling.”

At the CDI Barzago, Lancet’s scores of 65.833% in the Grand Prix and 67.720% in the Special did not reflect the major leap forward Hindle is experiencing in the saddle. “He felt a bit tired from the journey in the Grand Prix, but we went through the test with no major mistakes. I was especially happy with his performance in the Special, where he was at his best so far. I couldn’t pull up the score enough, even though the ride felt ten percent better,” Hindle explicated.

Notwithstanding the dramatic improvement Hindle is making on Lancet, she has been selected with Wie Weltmeyer for the British team for Moscow. “I still feel safer with Wie Weltmeyer, because he’s more experienced. I know I can put down a safer ride on him for my team.”

Hindle will make a final stop with ‘Wally’ at the World Cup Qualifier in Ksiaz (POL) July 1-3, 2005, before going to Moscow. Afterwards, she will take Lancet and her small tour horse Diamond Hit (Don Schufro x Ramino) on a quick show excursion to the CDI Fritzens (AUT) July 8-10, 2005

In between these shows and Moscow, Hindle is also hosting the Brookhouse Stud Foal Championships on July 17, 2005, at her yard in Ehrbach, Germany. Currently, her breeding stallion Diamond Hit has not only proven his valour in the show ring, but he has also put his mark on his offspring. At the Oldenburg Elite Mare Show in Rastede, Germany , Loxana (Diamond Hit x Argentinus) became Grand Champion of the show, while Diamantina (Diamond Hit x Campari M) finished third in the Brilliantring, the Champions’ of Champions show ring.
