Dominique Filion's Gentile Retired

Dutch Young Rider Dominique Filion announced the retirement of her success horse Gentile. The chestnut Dutch warmblood gelding Gentile turned 17 and his earned his well deserved retirement.

"People ask me, "where's Gentile," but actually I have not been riding him for quite some time," Filion told Dutch journalist Karin de Haan. "He's enjoying the pasture at our home."

Bred by Mr Winkelmolen from Sevenum, The Netherlands, Gentile is a 17.2 hh Saros xx x Landjonker x Cavalarist offspring. Aboard Gentile, Filion finished third at the 2002 Dutch Junior Riders Championships. The pair competed at two European Junior Riders Championships and finished fourth invidually in the 2002 European Championships. In 2004, they also competed at the CDI-YR in Helden and Roosendaal. Filion, who is trained by Anky van Grunsven, is currently actively campaigning Naughty Boy and Les Burga.
