Australian Grand Prix rider Kristy Oatley-Nist is expecting a baby. The 26-year old will be delivering the child in February 2005. For years now, Oatley-Nist has been based at Gestut Gronwoldhof, where she trains with Karin Rehbein.

Kristy became the 1997 European Young Rider Champion aboard Rosemount Oskar (as she has dual German-Australian citizenship). She has been an Australian Olympic team rider in 2000 at the Sydney Games, but decided not to go the 2004 Olympic Games, though qualified, as her current Grand Prix horse Quando Quando is too young for such a strenuous competition. Karin Rehbein is keeping Kristy's horses in show shape at the moment.

Father to Kristy's baby is the 26-year old Piotr Staczek, a German professional soccer player (defense libero), who played for St Pauli and was recently transferred to the Bargteheide football club. Kristy and Piotr married on November 1, 2004.
