In 2006, the general management and the breeding management of the Hanoverian Verband will be in younger hands. At a meeting on June 21, 2004, the board of directors of the Hanoverian Association

decided to appoint Dr. Werner Schade from Ahausen to be the next managing director and breeding manager.

Following a period of vocational adjustment of one year, he is scheduled to succeed Dr. Jochen Wilkens as of May 2006. Since 1983, Dr. Jochen Wilkens has been the managing director of the Hanoverian Association.

In various workshops, the leadership discussed about the future development of the Hanoverian Association, and the course was set to continue the personal union of managing director and breeding manager. This new task will be a great challenge for Dr. Werner Schade (41), however, he is certainly very well prepared. The agrarian engineer had already worked as an assistant of the general management. He did his doctorate at the Göttingen University where he dealt with the subject "Development of an insemination program for the Hanoverian warmblood breed". After that, he was the project manager of the most important equine exhibition worldwide, the Equitana in Essen. When Dr. Schade founded his consulting agency, he started to intensify the relation with the Hanoverian breeding area again. In co-operation with the Hanoverian Association, he organized various workshops and conferences about equine subjects.

Friedrich Jahncke from Bückau, the chairman of the Hanoverian Association, was satisfied with this unanimously made decision. "Next year, I will resign from my office, and I am quite relieved to know that the Hanoverian Association will be in competent hands in the future."
