2004 Performance Plus: A Look into the Collection 3

Cat # 45: "Ultrason" - Metall x Belisar - Bay gelding - born 2001

Catalogue nr 45 is a bay KWPN gelding named Ulltrason. Sire of this handsome young horse is Metall, a son of the Grand Prix stallion Ferro. Often called the Black Pearl of KWPN breeding, Ferro had a successful international dressage career under Coby van Baalen, competing at the 2000 Dutch Olympic Team in Sydney. Ferro has also made his mark in Dutch dressage horse breeding.

Ultrason is out of the ster-awarded Lobelia, a daughter of Belisar. Via grandam Bersela and great-grandam Ursula this mares line leads back to the keur-, preferent- and prestatie-awarded mare Irma la Douce. This daughter of Epigoon produced two licensed stallions, namely Pion (by Abgar xx) and Luitenant Generaal (by Cartoonist xx).

This makes Ultrason a product from a female line that produced numerous licensed stallions and top-class dressage horses. To mention a few more examples: the Zdpf licensed Graniet (by Sultan), the KWPN licensed Excellent W (by Sultan) and the international Grand Prix horse Merano (by Cartoonist).

Ultrason is a very rideable horse, easy to handle and has dressage written all over him.

Cat # 47: Rohdiamant x Westminster - black Oldenburg stallion - born 2001

This 3-year old black stallion is an wonderful promise for the dressage sport. He is by Rohdiamant, who is one of the most influential sons of Rubinstein I and is considered
his successor. Under the American dressage rider Lisa Wilcox, Rohdiamant started at
the highest level in the dressage sport. Lisa Wilcox competed the dark bay Rohdiamant at the CDIO Aachen as well as several other international shows, including the Zwolle International Stallion Show. A tendon injury brought his sport career to an end, but Rohdiamant kept a strong hold on Oldenburg breeding, being one of the top used Oldenburg stallions to date. Rohdiamant also equals rideability and beauty.

Dam of this future prospect is the elite-awarded state premium mare Faszination, a chestnut daughter of the Hanoverian stallion Westminster. Grandam Fuela, an elite-awarded mare herself, descends from the top-class progenitor Furioso II, a stallion we find in the pedigree of many a good dressage horse.

This Rohdiamant offspring can be presented at licensings or used as a sport horse. He has the beauty and movement to dazzle the judges and to take a rider to seventh heaven.
