Hanoverian Breeding News

On his way to the phantom, the Hanoverian breeding sire Voltaire collapsed and died of a heart attack. The 25-year old preferent sire Voltaire was healthy till the day he died, still covering three to four mares a week.

The Hanoverian Voltaire, by Furioso II out of Gogo Move (by Gotthard) had a successful sport and breeding career. In 1989 he won the Grand Prix of Berlin under Jos Lansink. Voltaire was stationed in The Netherlands at stud farm De Watermolen in Haaksbergen, and was most respected and used by the KWPN breeders.

Voltaire sired numerous international competition horses such as Especiale, Finesse, Play it Again and Altaire, and several licensed breeding stallions such as Concorde, Farmer and Equador.

It is the second major setback that Stud Farm De Watermolen had to cope with. After the passing of Julia Mariner xx, De Watermolen now lost their foundation sire Voltaire. There is still frozen semen available of both sires.
