Mark Biemans, owner of stallion station and brood farm 't Vierspan (STV) in Handel, The Netherlands, has announced that he is stopping the business. After 25 years of hard labour, the Biemans's have decided to take a new turn in life.

To enable this, they have gradually decreased their amount of horses over the past two years. Their collection is now limited to 45 foals, yearlings, two-year olds and youngsters, of which they will auction 30 on May 18, 2004.

"We have had many successes and good memories over the past 25 years," Mark Biemans told Eurodressage, "we sold more than 250 horses world wide, but the past two years we have been thinking about stopping the breeding farm and stallion station."

Biemans runs Stoeterij 't Vierspan together with his wife and parents. "The reason for stopping the business is entirely personal," Biemans explained. "My parents are getting older and it's so much work running the farm. My wife also gradually lost her enthusiasm and I want to do something different in the horse world as well."

On May 18, 2004, Biemans will be auctioning approximately thirty STV horses, all offsprings of, for instance, Krack C, Olivi, Metall, OO Seven, Junior STV, Jazz, Polansky, Purioso, Variant, Uniform and Argus.

On Sunday May 16, 2004 there is a first presentation of the auction collection at 14h 00. On Tuesday May 18, 2004, a second presentation of the horses takes place at 16h 00, followed by the actual auction at 19h 00.
